About This Service

The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) provides structured, clinically supervised outpatient treatment for individuals with substance use disorders. Delivered in group and individual formats, SAIOP offers evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and family support. Designed for adults and adolescents who require more than standard outpatient care but do not need 24-hour residential treatment, SAIOP offers a powerful bridge to long-term recovery.

Open Positions

Position 1: Clinical
Supervisor / Program Manager

The Clinical Supervisor/Program Manager is a licensed addictions specialist who provides clinical and operational leadership for SAIOP. This role ensures the program meets all NC DHHS regulatory requirements, provides direct clinical services, and oversees assessments, treatment plans, and group interventions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) required
  • Minimum 50% on-site presence during program operating hours per NC regulations
  • Strong knowledge of ASAM criteria, relapse prevention models, and SUD treatment standards

Position 2: Team Lead / Intake Specialist

The Team Lead/Intake Specialist manages day-to-day SAIOP operations, including coordinating client intake, conducting initial assessments, and supervising frontline counseling staff. This role ensures smooth admissions processes, monitors caseloads, and supports clinical staff in delivering timely, high-quality care.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field; CADC or QP credentials preferred
  • Experience with SUD intake assessment and ASAM level-of-care determination
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and client-engagement skills

Position 3: Counselor

The SAIOP Counselor delivers individual and group counseling sessions, develops and monitors individualized treatment plans, and facilitates evidence-based therapeutic programming. Counselors provide psychoeducation, relapse prevention planning, and connect clients to community recovery resources.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in behavioral health, counseling, or related field
  • CADC, CADC-II, LCAS-A, or working toward SUD credentials strongly preferred
  • Experience facilitating group therapy and delivering substance use disorder counseling
