Comprehensive DWI Support & Recovery Programs
SHYAS provides substance use assessments, DWI classes, treatment, and education services to individuals cited for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
DWI Assessment
The DWI Assessment is priced at $100 as determined by the State of North Carolina. The assessment must include BAC and Driving Record, which may be at additional cost.
ADETS — Alcohol and Drug Education Training School (Prime for Life)
ADETS is priced at $160 as determined by the state. This education program helps individuals understand the risks associated with alcohol and drug use.
Short-Term DWI Treatment
20–39 hours of substance use group treatment over 30+ days. Recommended for individuals with mild to moderate substance use disorder, a BAC of .15 or higher at the time of arrest, and/or who refused a chemical test at the time of arrest.
Longer-Term DWI Treatment
40–89 hours of substance use group treatment over 60+ days. Recommended for individuals with moderate to severe substance use disorder, more than one DWI, a BAC of .15 or higher at the time of arrest, and/or who refused a chemical test at the time of arrest.
IOP — Intensive Outpatient Program
36 sessions of substance use group treatment over 90+ days. Recommended when there is evidence of addiction, outpatient treatment has not been successful, there is withdrawal risk, there is a need for medical monitoring, emotional and behavioral problems require a structured setting, and/or there is high resistance to treatment and an inability to abstain.
