About This Service

Community Support Team (CST) is an intensive, community-based behavioral health service for adults living with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions. Available 24/7/365, CST provides a multidisciplinary, team-based approach delivering therapy, case management, rehabilitation, and peer support wherever clients are — in their homes, workplaces, and communities. The goal is to reduce hospitalizations, promote independence, and support lasting recovery.

Open Positions

Clinical Lead / Therapist

The Clinical Lead provides clinical direction and therapeutic services for the CST team. This licensed clinician conducts assessments, delivers individual and group therapy, supervises clinical decisions, and ensures services are evidence-based, person-centered, and regulatory-compliant.

Key Qualifications: Active NC clinical licensure (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent) Experience with adults with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders Strong leadership, assessment, and clinical documentation skills motivational interviewing, and treatment plan implementation.

Team Lead / Case Manager

The Team Lead/Case Manager oversees day-to-day team operations while carrying an active caseload. This role coordinates care plans, supervises direct service staff, facilitates team meetings, and ensures each client's services are linked, monitored, and aligned with recovery goals.

Key Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in behavioral health; QP-level credentials preferred Supervisory and case management experience in a community-based setting Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualified Professional / Sud
Credentialed Professional

The QP or SUD Credentialed Professional delivers direct community-based rehabilitation, skills training, and support services. This team member builds daily living skills, manages symptoms, accesses community resources, and supports individualized recovery goals.

Key Qualifications: Meets NC definition of Qualified Professional OR holds SUD credential (CADC, LCAS-A, or equivalent) Experience with adults with mental health or substance use disorders Skills in crisis de-escalation.

Peer Support Specialist

The Peer Support Specialist uses their own lived experience of recovery to inspire, mentor, and advocate alongside clients. This certified professional bridges clinical services and authentic community connection, modeling hope and empowering recovery.

Key Qualifications: NC Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification required Personal lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery Strong empathy, boundaries, communication, and community-navigation skills.
